The Limagrain adventure began
sixty years ago on the black soil of Limagne when, in
the 1940s, a handful of Auvergnat farmers
decided to join forces in order to produce the seeds they
needed.
Since those days, this cooperative company has succeeded
in developing its role of creating, improving and upgrading
plants, from corn to melons, from wheat to carrots, or
more generally from field seeds to vegetables.
The primary ambition it set itself all those years ago
has never swayed : supplying its customers with the best
products, and its farmer members with work and revenue.
Beyond this ambition the Group is driven forward by its
global vision of agriculture.
Through its own success and the defense of its values,
Limagrain is aware that it is participating in the promotion
of agriculture that is innovative, efficient and environmentally
friendly : tomorrows agriculture. |

Offering a future to agriculture |
 |
 |
 |
Based on the principles of
innovation, responsibility and solidarity, this project
gathers all the cooperative members and the groups
employees around a shared vision of the future.
They all realize that the improvement of plants accounts
for half the general progress of agriculture, the other
half being linked to growing techniques.
This awareness manifests itself through a level of enthusiasm
and involvement that often astonishes those on the outside.
By improving plants, by creating new varieties of corn,
wheat, vegetables or flowers, and by imagining, from this
vast garden, the seeds that farmers will be using tomorrow,
and the food products that future generations will be
eating, Limagrain is extending its activity beyond its
core business : it is building new roads for the future,
on the foundations of a strong identity made up of patience,
thoroughness, autonomy and profound attachment to the
nourishing soil of its origins, the Limagne plains of
Auvergne. |
